Fine Art by Gillian Kennedy Wright

My daily life experience is fueled by my frequent travel adventures. I am influenced by culture, people, color and aerial shapes. Body language, facial expressions, cultural innuendoes are always stimulating and influencing my artistic perspective.
My heritage as a Jamaican, Canadian and now American shifts as I encounter these characteristics across the globe. My mixed media multicultural portraits, grouped patterns and flora are the driving force behind my fiber collage collections.
I explore the power behind the line. How they transform into a shape and how the shape morphs into a design. Distinct, but simple lines flanked by a bold evolving graphic lexicon of shapes, inspire my design world. The transformation of abstracted simple lines into shapes are integral to my art.
